Flood Recovery and Replacement

Hi -

Due to a sewer line back up as a result of the flooding rain that happened on New Year’s weekend, my apartment needed to be evacuated immediately.

I came home from working a 10 hour shift to see my apartment completely ruined.

About four inches of sewage water flooded my apartment, causing damaged to all of my furniture, rugs, clothing, and other miscellaneous items.

Since my neighborhood is not considered a flood zone, I made the mistake of not electing flood coverage in my renter’s insurance, so my insurance is not covering any portion of the damage or property replacement. My apartment building is saying the city is at fault for the flood, and as such is claiming no responsibility.

I don’t like to ask for help, but I feel I have no choice, as the expense of replacing literally everything is just too much for me.

I am asking for help to cover the replacement of my personal items and furniture including mattress, sofa, rugs, and other miscellaneous items that were once part of my home.

Any little bit helps, and I am so appreciative of whatever you are able to provide.
