My name is Eduardo, I live in Canada but my story began in this place you see in the picture. Unfortunately it is under water and part of my family was trapped for 2 days on the roof of their house. The water started to subside now and they were able to reach back home, but unfortunately the river took everything and what was left behind is completely destroyed. This is the same area where my mom grew up with 8 other siblings. Back in the days, they did not have what to eat, they all grew up in extreme poverty, to the point that one day my grandmother had to send my mom and my aunts at age of 15, 13 and 11 to the capital city so my grandmother could feed the other kids.

As soon as my mom and my aunts started to work, all the money they were making, they mailed in an envelope back to my grandmother so she could feed the kids. They worked as nanny, maid, night cleaners... anything that could provide income. As time passed they were able to save more money, and after years of savings they were finally able to provide my grandmother a new house.

This same house now is destroyed, and the photos and memories that were once there, the river took away.

That house was the source of income for my aunt, Sonia, the 3rd oldest of the family. She is a single mom who takes care of my cousin and my youngest aunt, Elisa, who have down syndrome. That house was like a big kitchen, used to make food so they could sell in the neighborhood and Elisa made crochet so she could sell sox, dish cloth and table cloth.

The funds that I am trying to raise here are simply and ultimately with the intention to help them build a new house. Any contribution is welcome.
