In the early morning of July 4th, my dear friend Corey, her husband Spencer (Army Combat Vet 11 Bravo), their two children, and dog Dewi lost everything when the Guadalupe River flooded in their neighborhood in Ingram, TX.
Corey started calling 911 at 5 a.m. when they found themselves completely trapped by the flash flood. The family was stranded on the roof in the pouring rain for 2 very long hours before being rescued around noon. They escaped with the clothes on their backs. Their home is uninhabitable, their vehicles flooded, and nearly every possession ruined.
They are thankful for their lives but grieving the loss their family and community is navigating. They rented the home, they had no rental insurance. Their car insurance won’t cover flooding. They are temporarily staying in a hotel—safe, but shaken and unsure of what comes next. They are also deeply worried for their elderly neighbors who were impacted just as severely.
We are raising funds to help this incredible family begin again, starting from scratch. Every dollar will go directly to:
• Clothing & shoes
• Food and basic essentials
• Temporary housing, beds, furniture
• Transportation, rental car, bills etc.
