UPDATE: ....Well, so much for insurance.
Looks like there's always a way for them to get out of paying.
So at this stage, it's a total loss.
At a very early estimation, over 500k of stock alone, not including fittings and sundries....
Hi everyone, Linda Crew here from Dewdrop Inn Patchwork.
As many of you may know, Dewdrop Inn is a family run business of over 25 years in the picturesque coastal city of Hervey Bay.
In March 2025 Cyclone Alfred left a trail of devastation along the Queensland coast and Hervey Bay was one of the many locations affected by severe flooding, tidal surges, and rising waters.
Sadly our beautiful store was completely inundated with water from this event.
We are beyond heartbroken and still coming to terms with the level of devastation, destruction and loss.
At this time we're faced with the mammoth task of clearing destroyed stock and salvaging what we can into storage.
Yes we have insurance, obviously not enough to cover what has been destroyed and at last contact it wasn't looking promising, we may be faced with no cover. Nothing. Zero.
This in itself is unfathomable.
Any contributions at this time will assist us in the costs associated with the overwhelmingly monstrous clean-up, salvage, removal, and storage of what remains of our 25+ years hard work.
We never dreamed we'd be in this position, asking for your help to save Dewdrop Inn, but here we are.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who have reached out, offered help and support, your kind words and thoughts are very much appreciated.
