We are setting up a page to help the Pedder St Collective, Albion, who have lost their businesses in the latest South East Qld floods. Many plants, antiques, crucial leather machinery and woodworking tools have been destroyed and are difficult to replace. We are asking for help to restore the garden shop and the workshops of Botanick, Blue & Grae and Carol Russell Carving, who are still getting battered by high tides and storms in the area.
Unable to claim insurance, the space and machinery will need significant repairs, time and money to return to any normal working state.
The Pedder St Collective is a group of hard-working, honest and very humble people. They devote most of their time to their trades, teaching new students and spending the time to talk to anyone who walks through the door. This space is an important creative place for many Brisbane folk, a place for old and young people to dream and learn skills in carving, leatherwork & botanical inspiration. There are many who love them, and they are desperate for some support in these times.
We know many people who cannot help with clean up are keen to support in some way. Please donate here and we will distribute the proceeds among the businesses to get them back on their feet again and return Botanick/Pedder st Collective to the incredible eccentric warehouse it was before this natural disaster.
My name is Jennifer Hillhouse. My husband, JC Lehuby and I are dear friends of everyone at the Pedders St Collective. We all used to be in business together at Vieille Branche, 10 Fox St and are still all close friends.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated to fix damage to the contents of the space and aid in returning it to its original form.
