Flo & Fred Sam Fundraiser

On Wednesday Oct. 17 2018 an electric fire ignited Fred and Flo Sam’s house.
Due to the quick response of the fire department the house did not burn to the ground. However there is serious structural damage caused by the fire as well as water and smoke damage to all of their furniture,appliances,clothing, and personal items ...to the story of their lives really. Fred , Flo and their grandchildren are displaced from their home until the house can be rebuilt. This is a stressful and unsettling time for the whole family.
Unfortunately though, Flo and Fred did not have any insurance.
Fred and Flo have lived in Nak’azdli /Fort St. James their entire lives. They have contributed to their community in so many ways and continue to do so. Fred as Chief and Councillor for Nak’azdli and Flo as a language teacher at St. Maria Goretti and Nakal'bun as well as many other volunteer capacities.
At this stage of life they are living on a fixed income so rebuilding their home is going to be a financial burden. This is a time for us to give back to them and help reduce the stress and sense of loss for them and their grandchildren.
Any contribution will help! Let’s do what we do so well in this community and help our neighbours through a difficult time .
There will also be a loonie auction at Kwah Hall on Nov. 16 starting @ 1:00 pm.
All proceeds from the Go Fund Me and the auction will go toward the rebuild of the Sam family home.
