Flight Worthy - a true-story short film about my grandpa

Flight Worthy is a short film that shares the true-life story of my grandfather, Tim Vaughan. During his time flying mail in the 1970s, he encountered dozens of severe emergencies while flying, threatening his life, family, and trust in God. The film focuses on his miraculous survival, and how God used dangerous circumstances to strengthen his faith and overcome his greatest fears.

My name is Josiah Vaughan, and I grew up hearing my grandpa’s incredible flying stories. Ever since his passing in 2020, I’ve had a dream of sharing his legacy with the world. I am currently a film student in Liberty University’s Cinematic Arts Program, and I am honored to have the opportunity to create this film as my senior thesis project.

But I need your help in three big ways:

First, please pray that God would guide the entire project, and that he would use it to encourage Christians through my grandfather’s life story. That is my ultimate goal, and why I believe God wants me to make this film.

Second, you can help by donating to help with the production costs. Cast, crew, equipment rentals, locations and food are just a few of the costs that go into telling a story of this scale! I'm currently working to earn as much money as I can this summer, but I won't be able to do this alone! So any donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated, and will be critical for the success of the film.

All donors will be given a special thanks in the credits of the film! The film will premiere Spring 2025 at Liberty University’s Cinematic Arts Showcase in Lynchburg, VA, and then go on to festivals and an eventual online release.
