On October 6, our world was shattered when our dad, Leonard MacDonald of Mulgrave passed away. Dad was a journeyman insulator mechanic for 50 years and a proud member of Locals 116 & 110 of the International Heat & Frost Insulators. Dad retired in 2018 because of an occupational illness.

Dad was a proud Mulgraver who gave back for decades through service to his community and church. He served 6 consecutive terms as Mayor, making him the longest serving Mayor of the Town of Mulgrave.

As many of you know, dad was fighting with everything he had to recover and come back home to us. Things looked good last week and we couldn’t wait to see him.

He was strong and so brave. Thanks Everyday, through face time, he smiled and told us to be positive. He said he would not stop fighting because he had so much to live for.

Unfortunately, the asbestosis and the complications of the blood clot in his lung lead to his sudden and unexpected passing.

His daughter Kim and her four children flew home from Alberta with only a few hours notice so that they could say goodbye to dad and Grampy .

As many of you know, the cost of unplanned flights is enormous. Combined with lost wages from missed work while they are home, my sister and her children are faced with
