Flight Risk Mushing Sled Drive

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Melissa Mendelson and my sleddog kennel is Flight Risk Mushing. Over the past race season, I have realised how much I have outgrown my current sled - while I love my Maine Made Allagash, it is long, stiff, large, heavy, and made of wood - which breaks, instead of bends. It has served me extremely well the past half decade or so, but it is definitely time for an upgrade as I move into mid-distance racing. I have had my eye on a Prairie Bilt Bullet sled for years now and hopefully this summer is the time to make it happen. Prairie Bilt makes each sled to order, and as the spring and summer wears on, their wait list tends to get longer, so the earlier I can get the order in, the more likely it is I will have the sled ready to go by the time snow falls here in NW Wisconsin in December.

For some added fun, everyone who makes a donation of $10 or more will receive a Flight Risk Mushing sled drive sticker! Just send me a screenshot of your donation receipt and a mailing address to my twitter (@flightriskmush), instagram (@flightriskmushing), facebook page (Flight Risk Mushing), or my email at melissa_mendelson[@]yahoo[.]com. All stickers will be mailed once the fundraiser has concluded. Additionally, everyone will be entered into a drawing to receive a 5x7 original custom artwork from myself, and a cross stitch from Becca!

Becca is helping me set up this fundraiser, so in honor of her sled pups, we are running the fundraiser from Doe's gotcha day, and it will run for 2 weeks (through April 30) or until the goal is reached.

Breakdown of cost:

Prairie Bilt Bullet sled: $2815
2x snowhook holder: $64
Sled bag: $300+
Sales tax in North Dakota (5%): $158.95
Shipping (I will be driving to pick it up since that is most likely going to be cheaper than shipping, so this covers gas and travel costs): $150
GoFundMe fees (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction): $100+

You can view the Prairie Bilt Bullet sled here! Prairie Bilt makes top of the line sleds and I have been hoping to make one my next sled for years.

Any additional funds will go towards any potential unforeseen costs on the sled. After that, it will go towards other things to get my kennel ready for next season - namely, a chest freezer for frozen raw meat dog food, a pallet of kibble, and/or a snowblower to allow me to clear snow faster and spend more time on the trail!
