Hi Ocean Grove! Ever surfed with Keiko or had her make your morning coffee at Ket Baker? Well she and her kids need our help as a community. Hi I’m Bella, a friend and colleague of Keiko at the bakery, though i was a long time customer before ever working there and the care this woman gave to me as a single mum has never left my heart. Lining up for sourdough during COVID 1.5 metres apart with masks on and always this tiny Japanese woman would make sure my crazy run away baby was placated with babycinos and make the whole experience a good one. Now Keiko needs some support, her mum in Japan had a stroke and she’s had to put everything on pause to be able to fly back and forth to care for her in her very possible last few months alive, which is a huge strain not just financially for the flights but all the organising for pet sitting, two kids in school in Australia while being a single mum, then caring for her dying mother in her home country. If you shop at ket baker you know Keiko and if you surf then you definitely do! Let’s pitch in and make sure some of her flight money is covered during this medical emergency and very rough time for someone who always makes sure her community is caffeinated and happy daily ❤️
