Flight for Light: World Record for green light in Africa
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Kieran — I’m building a next-generation solar-powered aircraft to break the world endurance record for its class (under 5kg). But this project is about much more than just breaking records.
I’m using this flight to sponsor SolarAid, an incredible charity working to replace toxic kerosene lamps across Africa with clean, safe solar lighting. These simple lights save lives, improve education, and reduce emissions — making a huge impact in the world’s most energy-poor communities.
After the prototype is proven, I’ll scale the design into a larger solar aircraft, capable of indefinite flight — a revolutionary solution to reach remote regions in Africa and Asia with essential aid like food, clean water, and medicine. I plan to partner with charities on the ground to deliver this technology where it’s needed most.
This isn’t just an aircraft — it’s the start of a solar-powered humanitarian delivery system, built for the places that are hardest to reach and most often left behind.
Your support will go directly toward:
1. Building and testing the first solar UAV prototype
2. Supporting SolarAid’s mission to bring solar light to families in need
3. Accelerating development of the full-scale aircraft for future humanitarian missions
4. Reduce carbon emissions from lamps and existing aid transport, and allow for further outreach into remote destinations
Thank you for being a part of the solar revolution
