Hi All,
My name is Lex, and I'm boxer. I started boxing a little over three and a half years ago as a release from the stress of working at a job that I hated. Not the regular take an extra fifteen minutes to get out of bed hate, but punch my annoying overly dramatic crazy ass boss in the face hate. Hence, my peaceful introduction to the world of boxing.
Having sparred with all kinds of folks, I personally revel in going head-to-head with the guys. As a woman, guys always have some shit to say and as the beast of a boxer that I am, I ALWAYS shut them down. Besides kicking their asses, destroying the assumption that women are weak and earning their respect, boxing has provided me with great self-defense skills. Being able to defend myself has provided me with more confidence (physically and emotionally), mental toughness and discipline.
Despite the many positives, boxing is extremely challenging mentally and physically. I've have committed myself to training 5 to 6 days a week for 2 to 3 hours a day while working full time in the sports industry.
In the past three years,I've seen my skills and results grow tremendously. I've won the New York Golden Gloves, the National Golden Gloves, the New York Tournament, and advanced in the finals of several other tournaments.
I know boxing has an expiration date. I started late (at 27) and it is extremely strenuous on the body. Unfortunately, I don't earn enough to cover all of the expenses needed for me to travel and compete on a national level to accomplish my goal of qualifying for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
I know given if given the opportunity I know I have the skills to really make a name for myself on a national and international level.
Female boxers are just as skilled as their male counterparts but lack sponsorship opportunities to train at high levels. I need your support, your sponsorship to help lift me to the next step in my boxing journey!
