Hi my name is Léna Seale, I'm from and based in Ireland, fundraising for my friend Hadeel's family to leave Gaza. Her sister is currently in Ireland as she managed to get out on the second day of bombing and we are working together on this campaign. Here is her sister Nadein with me in Ireland and Hadeel on video call with us:

Hadeel and I became friends around 3 years ago via online campaigns highlighting the 2021 assault on Gaza and we stayed friends ever since. We hope that one day, with your help, we can finally meet in person. With the funds raised so far, we raise the funds, you managed to evacuate Hadeel and her husband to Egypt.

An update from Hadeel who is now in Egypt with a new baby and is continuing the fundraiser for her family still in Gaza:

A new life... A new hope, thank you to everyone who had a small or big imprint for this hope, thank you from the heart to every human being who carries the meaning of humanity, I am now here thanks to you and your support I was able to overcome many difficulties, I faced many challenges and I still am but what makes me continue is that there are people in my life who care about me for my suffering for my unfinished story.

Life is not easy even after I left Gaza I was expecting to find a life full of happiness and peace, but since I arrived, we faced many challenges. However, we never stopped striving and trying to live in order to obtain our rights that were taken away from us.

Imagine being in your homeland, you have a house, you have a job, you have a family, you have everything, then you close your eyes and open them to find yourself without a homeland, without an identity, and without any rights, you just have to continue in order to live for your family.

Every time I want to take a deep breath I remember that I have a whole family that is still living injustice, humiliation and suffering, this breath is interrupted, I feel disappointed that I did not give them anything because I could not get them out all these years, I was the hope for them, I was the light at the end of the tunnel but the light disappeared.

It disappeared since the crossings were closed, I tried to be the one who could support the family but I realized that I am also the one who needs someone to support, all I want is a source of income for me and my family away from all this, as I was a strong human being and working and not waiting for anyone's help. I want to start from scratch without relying on anyone as I used to, I don't forget everyone who stood by us but it is not easy to feel that you can't. Taking a step forward without support without pity makes me cry every time I feel this feeling makes me hate life, so I am thinking of making a small project to be a source of income for me and my family who are still in Gaza, every lovely message from you reaches me and I feel it. Our youth was robbed of us, now we take back our lives that were taken and we don't want anything else.
