Fleeing domestic violence - mother with 2 kids needs to work ASAP to pay for room

She is available to do any work during school hours only. She will need to be paid at the end of each day so she can pay for her hotel room. (North Hills area)

She will pass a drug and criminal check. She has a high school diploma.

She is available for:

- House cleaning

- General house duties

- Child care in your home

- Work for local business that can start her immediately

Crisis Center North has paid for a hotel for 2 days because all shelters have been full. She must call each day to verify if there is space. There are 3 shelters dedicated to domestic violence and they continue to be full.

Our non-profit has stepped in on this case. We have negotiated with another hotel, a more suitable rate that she can pay if she can find work asap to pay for the room.

This woman with 2 kids is from the North Hills area. One of her kids has down syndrome and does not do will with change and new people. So shelters would be very difficult for her. The mother realizes this and is ready to WORK TODAY and EVERYDAY TO PAY FOR HER HOTEL ROOM that she is staying in until the SSDI for her daughter kicks in about 3 weeks. She has also applied for emergency housing which takes months to kick in.

Our non-profit has been presented with this emergency case by one of our previous clients. We don't normally deal with emergency housing, but we were shocked by the process for those that need emergency housing. Because the woman is very anxious to work, we took on this case.

This is what our non-profit has provided to date along with our plan to get her on her feet.

- food alone with toys and activities to keep her children busy. She fled with only a bag of clothes for them.

- a Giant Eagle gift card to buy the diapers her daughter with down syndrome must wear.

- we have negotiated a more affordable hotel room that she can manage to pay if she can pick up odds and ends jobs until she finds a steady job.

- we are working on helping her get a job at the school where her children attend, so it makes it easier for her to manage with no car. We also have other employment opportunities lined up if this does not work.

- we have pinned some apts. or a house she can rent within her budget, when the SSDI kicks along with a regular paycheck

- we are reaching out to resources on her behalf that can assist with the 1st month and security deposit

Our volunteer business mentors work with developing entrepreneurs to develop the confidence and the entrepreneurial skills necessary to become self-reliant professionals in their communities. Latest update!

We have negotiated a discounted rate if we pay in advance the weekly rate. The rate will drop down to $40 per day when paid in advance, which is $280. We are using currently donated money to secure that rate.

She is trying to earn $90 per day: $40 for the hotel and $50 per day towards the rental down money needed. The money she saves after paying the hotel will be applied to the money donated. She currently has house cleaning jobs till Monday with potential opportunities for permanent work.

We are working on securing SSDi for her daughter and we are scheduling an appt. with a dr. thru the Down Syndrome Association for an evaluation.

To date, this is the money that has been collecting. A big thank you to those that have donated! We will be setting up a Go Fund Me page shortly.

ALL MONEY COLLECTED GOES DIRECTLY TO THIS WOMAN AND HER CHILDREN. WE WILL CONTINUE TO BE TRANSPARENT. This money is not being used for any other person other than the ones mentioned. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have concerns or if you have been contacted by any individuals.
