Fledge Fest 2023 Capital Campaign

Donation protected
Last year, Fledge Fest drew in over one hundred people for a beautiful, family-friendly day of music, crafts, food and festivities. We had four local bands, a lamb roast (from the farm), a human-sized “nest” installation, a craft and games area, and even a procession of swan puppets created by the AllTogetherNow Community Arts Center of East Montpelier, VT.

This year, we are planning for two days of music and festivities. This would entail approximately 15 bands, 1-2 food trucks, more volunteers, a sound engineer and a larger sound system. We hope to double or triple the number of attendees from last year, improve our marketing materials, advertise across a broader geographic region, and offer a wider range of activities for a fully-booked weekend on the farm. This will require some important improvements to infrastructure at the festival site including a stage expansion, work on the access road to the festival site and increased camping and parking space.

Our mission is to nurture and expand vibrant community outlets for live music, the arts and local food, while collaborating with existing local nonprofits and community groups. A key goal of ours is to keep the festival affordable and accessible to the community by allowing general admission to be a sliding scale payment based on what attendees can afford.

We have reached out to regional, like-minded businesses for sponsorship, but we are also reaching out to individuals to help us reach our fundraising goal. As a part of our commitment to support local food and the arts, we plan to donate 10% of any profits from the festival to the farm advocacy group Rural Vermont and to Royalton Community Radio. We also plan to set aside 30% of profits to subsidize the cost of CSA shares from our farm for low-income members for the 2024 growing season.

With your help, we will be able to bring together the community, far and wide, celebrating local food, art, and music among the beautiful Vermont hills. We thank you for helping us make this dream of music on the hill reach new heights and we hope you can join us for the weekend!
