There are way too many amazing people who are battling cancer or who lost their battle with this horrible disease. When cancer hits close to home affecting those you love and admire the passion to speak up for those affected most becomes too strong to settle for, “There’s nothing they can do.” Something, even if it’s one thing can always be done.

Flavia Davis, a valued and loved nurse, wife and most importantly mother, has cared for so many adults and children over her extensive career. Her exemplary work ethics and compassionate care made her instrumental in the initiation of nursing programs in Radiology and at Pediatric MRI and PACU.Then in 2016, Flavia was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. This devastating news wrenched the hearts of all that know her, but Flavia remained resilient. She underwent several surgeries, radiation and chemotherapy, and suffered some severe complications where most would throw their hands up, but not Flavia. She got on her road to recovery supported by her husband and young son. She was able to return to work doing what she loves and caring for those in need. After a routine checkup later that year, a small spot was discovered in her left lung and thus began another round of chemo. Three months of treatment and things were looking hopeful. Even when the chemo was leaving her exhausted she pushed through caring for those at work and home. Then devastating news came end of June this year when she went in for her 3 month checkup. The tumor doubled in size and 5 additional tumors were found in her left lung. The cancer doctor said there is nothing they can do because it is so close to the mediastinum. Flavia's battle with this very aggressive and rare form of cancer now has her at risk of losing her medical benefits due to missing work to get the treatment she needs. We think something can be done. A prayer, a hope, your support in donating to help this beautiful soul so she can enjoy her husband and son as long as her destiny allows. Every minute is more precious now, and it’s so sad that it takes news such as this to open your eyes to the wonder of life and the value of time. So do something. Let's not stop at words, She wouldn't!!!
