Flatiron shop break-in recovery

Donation protected

On the evening of Monday August 2nd, NE Portland staple Flatiron Tattoo was broken into costing thousands of dollars in stolen equipment and damaged property. The small 2 person shop founded by Jason Bradbury has grown into much more than a tattoo shop, it's a home away from home for many in the Portland artist and creator community.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help Jason, Lacey, and the Flatiron recoup their losses and replace stolen equipment, helping them to get back to their passion and profession as soon as possible. Funds from this fundraiser will directly replace:

  • Ink
  • 25 years of tattoo machines including cordless devices
  • steel/disposable tubes
  • needles (liners/shaders/mags)
  • work station and shop rehab from damage
  • replacing Greg Irons Book and several tattoo reference books

Find links below or more information, updates on the break-in, and the artists themselves.

Jason Bradbury started tattooing in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1993. After leaving Baltimore, he moved to Portland in 1994 where he completed his apprenticeship at Just a Touch of Class Tattoo in downtown Portland between 3rd and Taylor. Afterward he worked in a few shops around the city until landing at Portland’s first and only custom tattoo studio at the time, Atomic Art Tattoo Studio, in 1995. Jason began Flatiron Tattoo in 2019 in the 1925 flatiron building at NE 57th wedged between Sandy Blvd. and Alameda St. in the Rose City Park neighborhood.

Lacey B instagram

Lacey B, a proud native Oregonian, has been tattooing in and around Portland since 2016. She specializes in such diverse tattoo styles as neo-traditional (pretty lady faces and animal portraits), nerd tattoos (sci-fi and fantasy), pop culture, anime, black & gray (color is great, too!), and traditional (who doesn’t love skulls and daggers??)

After tattooing for over 25 years in Portland, Jason Bradbury opened Flatiron Tattoo in the Rose City Park neighborhood on the top floor of a 1925 flatiron building in April 2019. Jason has seen tattooing grow in Portland from the underground art form it was in the 1990’s to the flourishing industry it is today. Using his experience doing walk-in’s at street shops to his years at an all-custom appointment-only studio, Jason strives to make Flatiron a well-rounded tattoo shop. Both first-timers and seasoned tattoo collectors looking for large or small tattoos are welcome at our award-winning shop.
