As an avid sea swimmer in Barry and beyond (and very below average surfer in Porthcawl and beyond), I’m hoping to raise money to benefit Surfers Against Sewage, a marine conservation charity that’s helps protect oceans, waves, beaches and marine life. I am also hoping to raise public awareness of the huge problem of sewage dumping in our oceans and rivers by the large billionaire, water companies. Any donation will help make an impact. I will be swimming from Flatholm Island, a remote island the middle of the Bristol Channel between Wales and England. It is a 12-15k swim into Barry’s Whitmore Bay. I’m hoping it will take between 4-5 hours depending on currents and sea conditions.
