Flat Laurent Around The World

Hello, my name is Laurent Clerc Holt. I am the great great great great grandson of Laurent Clerc, "The Apostle of The Deaf in America." Laurent Clerc was an educator and innovator from France who came to the United States with Thomas Gallaudet in 1816. Together they founded what is now the American School for the Deaf in 1817, which has over 200 years of serving the Deaf Community. Laurent Clerc was pivotal in teaching and creating this environment which advanced the development of American Sign Language and deaf education.

Our "Flat Laurent Around The World project" involves sending detailed foam-backed cutouts of Laurent Clerc to deaf schools and deaf museums across the United States and worldwide. On this journey, we hope to support the further advancement of Deaf Education, Deaf History and Deaf Culture.

All donations here will go specifically for the manufacture and mailing of Flat Laurent to these important destinations.
