For Flash to receive life-saving medical treatment
Donation protected
Last week Flash became suddenly unwell. It’s been an absolutely awful weekend of uncertainty with him being incredibly poorly, but we now are pretty sure he has an autoimmune disease called IMHA, in which his white blood cells are attacking and destroying his red blood cells. He needs blood transfusions which are around £900 a time to buy him time for the medication to work, and the hospital costs £600 a day. So far this has all cost us £8,300.
We have already maxed out our insurance limit and used all our savings.
I’m so grateful to have reached our original target, and would continue to be grateful for anything more as he may need multiple transfusions along with the cost of needing to stay in the specialist hospital and his medication.
If you feel able to contribute even a small amount, we would be so grateful. This boy is a beloved part of our family and is only 3. While treatment doesn’t guarantee recovery, lots of dogs with IMHA do go on to have a long and happy life, and we really hope that can be him.
Thank you so much for reading.
