Flash Flood Relief for Tony & Tawni
Donation protected
If you know Tony and Tawni DeYoung, you know they are the first to show up when someone needs help.
They’ve poured themselves into this community—serving faithfully at One Chapel Liberty Hill, supporting the baseball team, and even creating Front Yard Fridays to help neighbors connect and build something real together. They’re not just part of Liberty Hill—they’ve helped shape its heart.
Late at night on the 4th of July, a devastating flash flood tore through their neighborhood. The water came fast and without warning. Their entire downstairs was flooded: Walls saturated, furniture ruined, fencing and ranch structures destroyed, and many of their animals—a vital part of their family’s income—lost or displaced.
Just across the street, 16 people had to be rescued by helicopter.
Though the water has receded, the damage is staggering. The cost to repair the home alone is estimated at $55,000—and that doesn’t include fencing, animal care, or the many belongings that were lost. Insurance has denied their claim because they weren’t in a designated flood zone. And they’ve already invested so much into their property that they are maxed out on credit.
They’re doing all they can. Tawni’s boss at State Farm has sent a mitigation expert to help them save money where possible, and friends have shown up in force to help clean up. But there’s still so much to rebuild—and they can’t do it alone.
