Flash flood disaster

My name is Jamie, and I'm fundraising to help with costs of being displaced from our home.

Friday morning, June 10th, we woke to our road and driveway so flooded we weren't able to leave. We attempted to block the doors with bags full of towels and clothes we were going to donate, but water was coming in from too many places. Within an hour, while we packed and tried to figure out how we were getting to safety, we had 2 to 3 feet of standing water throughout the entire home. Some of our furniture and belongings were actually floating across the house.

The mayor, along with the fire and police departments, came to get my children, my 84 year old grandmother, and I out in a boat.

We were able to grab a couple pairs of clothes, & toiletries. Everything else that wasn't hung on a wall or on a high shelf was lost. I no longer have a running car, a car seat, stroller, crib, toys for my baby girl, or my son's... The list goes on. I've been able to pay for a room and food for a couple of nights, but through Monday is about as far as our savings will get us. I do have car insurance, but I don't have the money for my portion of the cost to rent a car, or to cover deductibles.
