Firstly, thank you for even taking time to read this. The world is a pretty wild place these days, and everyone we know seems to be going through something serious at the moment.
Secondly, yes this is a gofundme to save our dog. Call us cliche, but we love our husky as much as we probably love you so if your willing, read below. If not, we understand and love you anyways.
Our beloved FLAME, as well as his two loving parents, are in dire need of your help in order to save Flames life.
We know thats heavy handed, and intense, but it is TRUE. Our best friend and generally fittest person around is sick...
Flame is our rescue husky of 11 years and we have had him for the last 9 years.
Over the last six months, he has developed a type of invasive cancer in his snout. It has caused a tumor to grow and cause pain and discomfort for him 24/7.
We have depleted CareCredit, nonprofit groups, and all the savings we've had. We have reached out to family who have been more than helpful.
At his point in time, if we cannot raise the money to get him the radiation treatment needed, we will lose him.
Taylor (his human mom) spent many years working at a high level animal hospital, so we very much understand the need for mercy when things reach a certain point. However, we are happy to report that in every other respect Flame is a perfectly, almost strangely healthy dog. The vet has told us that with the radiation treatment he should make a full recovery without issue! Wed like to say we had something to do with this but he truly has been amazing since day one.
Because of this we are asking for your help. Flame requires around 4 treatments of radiation to beat this. IN TEXAS we have been quoted between $8k-$10k for this. Prices at Vet Hospitals in Los Angeles are charging almost double that. To keep things as economical as possible, should we raise the money, we will be transporting Flame back to Texas for the radiation treatment and recovery.
We know many of you have wonderful memories with Flame and we want everyone to know how much we appreciate you even just sharing this around.
Bottom line, we love Flame and just want to give him the quality of life he deserves in the last quarter of his time with us.
Thank you all,
-Jeremy, Taylor, and Flame
Below are some photos of Flame over the years as well as a video that shows his condition. He has a lot of pain, trouble breathing through his snout, and a lot of discharge and discomfort from his eye area due to inflamation. He is very sluggish and tired most of the time due to current "anti-cancer" medications from his local vet.
