Scott is a devoted husband and a father to our beautiful daughter who is 3. He’s fighting the biggest battle in life… Stage 4 Small Bowel Adenocarcinoma with features of a Neuroendocrine Tumor that has already spread to his lymph nodes and to his liver.
On May 28th of last year, he was walking into a routine surgery, so we thought. When the doctor finished surgery and wanted to speak to us privately, I was instantly deviated and knew something more serious was wrong. He was sure it was cancer but, had to wait for the pathology to come back to confirm. Pathology confirmed that it was a Neuroendocrine Tumor. We started to take all the next steps for treatment of a Neuroendocrine Tumor and in July, of last year the doctors said the best thing! “The whole tumor was removed and you’re cancer free.” By August, Scott was back in the hospital for some abnormal symptoms and they did a Ct-Scan. There were 13 lesions in his liver — “It’s already spread.”
This doesn’t happen with a Neuroendocrine tumor typically. A biopsy was done and it confirmed our worst fears. It was an Adenocarcinoma and he needs to start chemo immediately.
Since then, he has had countless chemo treatments, Ct-Scans, PET Scan, hospital stays including one of his bowels being twisted, blood transfusions, and tried to keep life steady for his family. He kept working, kept showing up, kept pushing even when he was mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted.
Sadly, we found out yesterday that he has failed standard of care and we must move into phase 1 of clinical trials as soon as possible.
He has an appointment next week in New York with Sloan Kettering Memorial and we are hoping to get another opinion from MD Anderson in Texas.
We are asking for donations in hopes to cover the cost of the outstanding medical bills we’ve inquired, travel expenses, hotel expenses and, if he is accepted into one of these trails and we need to move down to either Texas or New York, moving expense's.
Every dollar brings him closer to saving his life, stability, rest, and healing — without the crushing fear of medical bills and all of the expenses that come along with cancer.
This isn’t just about surviving cancer. It’s about creating space to actually heal, to be present with his 3 year old daughter, family and, to know he can keep fighting without collapsing financially. God has a plan for Scott and he’s not done with him yet. He WILL be a walking, living, speaking testimony. Scott’s my best friend and cancer isn’t taking him. We still have a lot of life to live and grow old together. He has a daughter to watch go out on her first date, her first and last graduation, start her career, watch her walk down the aisle and, have our grand babies. Please help save his life.
Please donate $5 today. Please share this campaign. Help him cross the finish line.
Thank you so much!
