Kathy was diagnosed with stage 3c anal cancer in August of 2025. Since then, she has endured a whirlwind of treatment, with two rounds of chemotherapy and 33 days of radiation. She completed her treatment on October 31 and is healing more and more each day. We are so grateful to see our beloved Mom and Grammie returning to us and are hopeful that as she continues to recover, she'll be back to quilting, visiting with loved ones, and chasing around her grandkids soon.

While she won't have scans confirming treatment worked until early 2026, her doctors remain optimistic that soon this will be behind her.

Many of you have graciously offered your prayers, and we cannot thank you enough for your generosity lifting up Kathy and our family in this difficult and scary time. The graces from your prayers have sustained us all, and we know they gave Kathy the strength to choose to fight and show up for treatment each and every day.

We also have been asked repeatedly for any other way to help. Gratefully, at this point, there is not much to do except allow Kathy the time and space to rest and regain her strength. As such, we are opening up this GoFundMe on Ken and Kathy's behalf to give an opportunity to contribute financially to help cover the cost of her treatment and ongoing medical expenses, allowing Kathy to focus solely on her recovery.
