Ashley Stocker is a 16 year old girl who has Progressive Bowel Dismotility with an ileostomy. Since February 2013 we have spent 132 days in the hospital and counting due to her recent admission back in the hospital. She even spent her 16th birthday in the hospital. From October 2013 to now she has had 5 major surgeries, with no success. It is hard to put down into words everything she has gone through. She is a very rare case and has puzzled the doctors here at Florida Hospital for Children. Her GI doctor, Surgeon and Pediatrical team all agree that the best chance for her future is to take her to Nationwide Hospital / Motility Center is Columbus, Ohio but the insurance company doesn't want to pay for an out of network facility. Thats why we are trying to raise the money. They have the ability to do more extensive testing and give us a better treatment plan so she can have the next surgery she needs. If we don't get motility in the small bowels, the surgery won't work. Ashley also has a feeding tube in her stomach because she's not even able to eat on her own. She is always nauseous, has abdominal distention and is in pain due to the continuous feedings she needs for nutrients to keep her alive. It is kind of time sensitive because if it takes to long to get her there she could lose all motility. Then she would need a small bowel transplant, which is very rare and the success rate in children is unknown. I am asking anyone that is able to donate to please help me to take my daughter to get the treatments she needs. Thank you to everyone that is helping and praying for us. God bless you all.
