Our Studio

We are a group of 4 VFX students who have banded together to form our own visual effects studio "White Dwarf Visuals." We started out during a university project where we had to form a made up vfx studio and complete a mock pitch for a made up project. During this we came up with the name White Dwarf and realised that we work really well together. Since then we have completed numerous projects with each other as both a whole group and individually. Our most recent project "Glade City" was a concept trailer we made from scratch and it was after this that we were told we should look into creating this vfx studio properly and turn it into a business.

This Project

This project is the end of year brief for our second year of university and we have decided to go all out and create a short film. We wanted to work on something that would give us all an opportunity to work to our individual strengths whilst also focussing on collaberating with each other to improve our teamwork and collaberation skills. This project is going to be set in a medieval world and include themes of action, fantasy and magic. We will create a story that is both entertaining to follow as well as visuals that we hope to be of our best quality yet.

When will it be made?

Our university deadline for this project is the 16th of May, however we expect to continue working on it after that to get it to a stage that we are fully happy with sharing and expect the film to go live some time over the summer. There will be more updates about this closer to the time.

Why do we need funding?

Essentially, films cost money. Whilst our university can provide us with industry standard equipment and software to make our film, we still need things like props, costumes as well as locations to film at. All of these can become pricey and as we are all full time students, there are only so many costs we can cover. This is why we have created this funding campaign so that if you are interested in this project, and want to see it come to life, you can help us out by donating. We do not have much to offer back other than what we hope will be an entertaining film, our greatest gratitude and of course, a credit mention at the end (If your names provided).
