I am fundraising to help my younger sister with the end of life costs of her sweet poodle, Potato, who was only five years old when he passed away.
Potato was her best friend, and he loved her, her children and tennis balls more than anything. On their weekend hikes, Potato would carry his tennis ball all the way around Lake Tabeaud, while chasing after the children and making sure they stayed close. At night time he would curl up in her sons bed to watch over her two young boys while they slept.
His appetite started to decline and he woke up one morning not interested in drinking water. She took him to his vet on an emergency appointment, and after days at the veterinary clinic, it was determined he had an intestinal blockage that wasn’t going to resolve itself and needed surgery.
On Thursday, August 10th, Potato underwent surgery. Lindsey received a call in the early afternoon that although his vitals were strong during surgery, after closing him up, his heart stopped and they could not revive him. She was devastated.
Now faced with a veterinarian bill of just over $5000 and her sweet Potato up on the rainbow bridge, she is overwhelmed.
She took a chance at saving her best friend, and despite the cost, opted to do whatever she could to save her sweet boy. Now, in the midst of her grief, she is financially overwhelmed.
This type of emergency care comes at a cost, and we want to support Lindsey and her two young boys during this tragedy.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you are unable to donate, please help spread the word by sharing.
