By Steve R – A born Jamaican from St. Ann, and a lover of the country I will forever call home
My name is Steve R, and I was born and raised in the beautiful parish of St. Ann, Jamaica. Many of the people affected by the devastating Hurricane Melissa are not just fellow Jamaicans to me — they are my friends, my neighbors, my family.
This storm has torn through communities, destroying homes, washing away livelihoods, and leaving countless families struggling to start over. My heart breaks for them, and I want to do everything I can to help as many people as possible put their lives back together — whether it’s one meal, one rooftop, or one piece of clothing at a time.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go toward helping families rebuild:
Supplying food, clean water, and clothing
Repairing damaged homes
Supporting community recovery and rebuilding efforts
The need is great, but together, we can make a real difference. Please consider donating or sharing this campaign to help Jamaica heal, rebuild, and rise again.
From my heart to yours — thank you for your generosity and love.

Full Story
My heart is heavy as I write this. Jamaica has been hit hard by Hurricane Melissa, and the devastation is beyond words. Families have lost everything — their homes, their belongings, their sense of safety. Communities that once were full of laughter and life now stand in ruins, covered in mud, debris, and heartbreak.
As a born Jamaican, my love for this island runs deep. Even though I may not be there right now, Jamaica will always be home. Seeing the pain and loss my people are enduring breaks my heart. I’ve seen the images, heard the stories, and spoken with friends and family who are trying to rebuild from nothing.
Roofs are gone. Roads are washed away. Children are sleeping in shelters or under tarps. Many have no clean water, no electricity, and no idea where to begin. The pain is real — but so is our spirit.
Jamaicans are strong, resilient, and full of faith. But right now, we need help. The damage is too great for us to face alone. That’s why I’m asking for your kindness and support to help those most affected by this disaster.
Every donation — no matter how small — will go toward providing:
Food, clean water, and essential supplies for displaced families
Building materials to repair and rebuild damaged homes
Support for those who have lost everything, including clothing and bedding
Help restoring schools and community spaces so life can begin again
It’s hard to describe the scale of what’s been lost, but every dollar brings hope — hope that a child will have a safe place to sleep, that a family can rebuild their home, and that a community can start to heal.
If you can give, please do. And even if you can’t donate, please share this with others. The more people who see this, the more lives we can touch.
Together, we can help Jamaica rise again.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for your compassion, prayers, and support.
