Kenny's Recovery
Donation protected
A week ago Kenny Schnatter was doing what he loves to do; racing down a course as fast as he could on two wheels. The fun was cut short when he seemed to have underestimated a massive jump. He was launched over 30 feet into the air in a slow front flip. When dust settled he was left with multiple life threatening injuries including a broken femur, pelvic bone, multiple fractured vertebrae, ribs, and a punctured lung. He was rushed to Orange Regional Medical in Middletown, NY and immediately was taken into surgery to repair his broken femur. After, a slew of more tests, a few more broken bones discovered and deep bruising on most of his body he is on his way to recovery. The doctors there are unsure how he survived such a horrific accident but Kenny is more determined than ever to get home to his wife and two kids. At this point it is unclear how much longer he will need to spend in the hospital or what other treatments will be needed to get him back on his feet. They are estimating a few more weeks at the hospital with rehab starting immediately. As you can imagine this type of situation takes a huge financial burden on a family. One that no one should have to face alone. Our family has been by Kenny and Emily's side helping anyway we can but they will need more than just us. Any help you can offer will go directly to Kenny to help with the medical expenses and household bills that are beginning to add up.
A little bit about Kenny Schnatter. He recently turned 38 this summer and is what I would describe as a "cool dad'. He does the fun stuff with his kids like camping, riding dirt bikes, remote control cars and anything to keep a smile of their faces. He is the type of person that would drop whatever he is doing to help someone else. He is a kind soul with a huge heart and has touched so many people in his life. Kenny seems to always be laughing or joking around and just wants to have a good time. He loves his dog Blue like they've been best buds forever. His siblings are his best friends and do just about everything together. As you could imagine this has been very hard on them as well. They just want Kenny to focus on healing and not have to worry about anything else. My hope is that this post can help alleviate a bit of the of the mental burden of the medical expenses that are beginning to arise. Kenny has a great deal of life ahead of him, but a long road to recovery. It is my hope that you can help him move forward from this with a positive outlook. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for taking the time to read this and for any thoughts, prayers or donations you can send his way. I know Emily and the kids will be forever grateful as well.
