In May 2025, my mom Donna received a diagnosis that changed our lives. The words no one wants to hear: Cancer. Specifically Gastric MALT Lymphoma.

My mom is a mother of 3 children, and grandma - or NaNa as she’s affectionately known - to 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is one of the most gracious and helpful people I have ever known. And that’s not just because she’s my mom.

She’s always sharing so much love, sage advice and positivity to her family and friends. Everyone who knows her enjoys her light and humor! Even after all of the recent health issues she has faced, she keeps on smiling and looking toward the future.

She’s a survivor!

We want her to continue to be a survivor and for that, we need your support.

To treat the cancer, my mom is looking at a long road ahead starting with radiation. Even with health insurance, my family is looking at over $10,000 of out of pocket expenses. The cancer was caught early at Stage 1, but doesn’t mean the fight will be easy. In the time between when she started noticing symptoms and her diagnosis, mom’s lost over 40 pounds, putting considerable stress on her body.

Both me and my brother Ron will be by her side throughout this entire journey back to health. That journey starts with us taking time off to care for our mother and help her regain her strength. We will be rotating taking time off work to give mom the care and support she needs.  

This battle has just begun. This is an extremely tough time for our family, but we’re believing the best. I’m asking for your support for my mom Donna.
