SAVE ROSCOE

Donation protected
Roscoe is my five month old puppy. He was rescued by my mother and I at the age of three months, after we put down our beloved family dog of 14 years, Shadow. Roscoe has brought joy and happiness into our lives the moment he stepped into it. He truly is a wonderful dog. When we first met him, he was abandoned and scared. In just two months, he is the kindest most geninue puppy out there. He loves everyone from little children to the elderly. He loves all cats and all dogs. More importantly, he is apart of my family. On September 20th at approximately 3:30 pm Roscoe was struck by a car right before my eyes. He was hit by a van going around 40-50MPH. He immediatlely yelped and cried in pain. Without hesistation, I sprinted to the road and cradled my puppy in my arms. He panicked and nipped my ear as I ran to place him in my car. I took off my shirt and wrapped it around his foot to stop the bleeding. As I examined his foot, I noticed complete bone showing. He had lost all of the skin on his foot. I knew I had to get him somewhere, FAST. My friend hopped in the car with me and applied pressure to his foot as we made the 45 minute journey from Amherst to Springfield. My passenger seat was covered in blood where my dog was placed, and he attempted to pass out but we wouldn't let him. My GPS was dying and we had no idea how to get to this emergency animal hospital. But somehow we made it and somehow my beautiful precious puppy was still alive, when he should've been dead. I rushed him into the ER and did everything I could. My mother met us there, as we waited hours and hours for the news of our dog. It turns out he has a dislocated hip, air leaking out of his lungs and a massive laceration on his lower left foot exposing bone tissue. He will need a femoral head osteotomy to fix the hip and will need 4-6 months of extensive wound care to avoid an amputation. With him being so young, he has a long life ahead of him. We want our puppy to be ok. With myself in nursing school, and with my mom being a single parent. Any monetary donation and any prayers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story, and lets hope Roscoe can be back on all four feet in no time with a healthy recovery. God bless.
