Hi! My name is Nikki and I, along with many others, are helping Chay & Bonnie raise funds to help with cancer treatment.

Imagine the shock and fear of a cancer diagnosis. Ovarian cancer. Now imagine you’re 29. This is what Michayla Davidson is facing. How do you go forward? With help. Lots of help. It takes a village and we’re looking for villagers!

We are trying to raise money to ease this entire situation. Treatments in Halifax, while living in Pictou County, will add up fast. The cost of fuel alone will be astronomical.

There are also lots of meds involved, beyond what NHSA covers. Some of those meds are optional but can make a HUGE difference in Chay’s journey, and her long term outcome. With no prescription coverage through her employer, this feels like an insurmountable obstacle.

Chay will be unable to work during treatment, which means very limited income. The stress of the diagnosis is hard enough, then pile on the financial burden. Some of us have been there, and it’s no joke.

That’s where we come in! Family, friends, and friends we have yet to meet.. we’re asking for a boost. Financially, your donation will be a huge help. Emotionally, seeing how many people care for her will be what helps her carry on and push through when her treatment has taken its toll.

The first steps of her care plan are in place.. surgery in 2 weeks! That will tell us what the next steps are. We would love to be able to help support Chay during this time. Pre & post op will mean a lot of work missed. Everyone is hopeful that surgery and meds will be all that’s required but the family needs to prepare for a possible long journey.

Chay is a young, vibrant woman. Healthy until this blindside, loved by many. She has a full life ahead of her. Let’s help her get there.

Chay’s care plan will be spearheaded by her mom, Bonnie Davidson. Chay has too much on her plate just trying to move forward with this diagnosis. We all need our mom when we’re scared, and there’s not much that’s scarier than this. Chay is blessed to have a hands-on, loving mother at her side, every step of the way. Let’s pitch in and raise the money Bonnie will need to get Chay to and from treatment, get the meds she needs, and do all she can to make this experience bearable.
