My name is Adam Fleming Petty. I'm a writer and a stay-at-home dad. Finding the time to write while taking care of two young children is, to say the least, challenging. Recently, I received an opportunity that would benefit me tremendously, but I need your help to realize it. 

Earlier this year, I applied to the Tin House Summer Writer's Workshop, a weeklong program held every July in Portland, OR. It's one of the finest programs of its kind, featuring many of today's best writers giving talks and leading workshops. And I got accepted! On its own, that was quite the confidence boost. However, I wasn't able to receive any financial assistance, as there's just a small amount available. In order to cover tuition costs, I'll need some help. An initial deposit of $800 needs to be made soon to reserve my spot in the program.

When I attend, I'll be in the Novel Writing Workshop, where I will polish SWORD, the Dungeons & Dragons in Iraq novel I've been working on for the past three years. The chance to immerse myself in writing, in such a stimulating environment, sounds like paradise to this stay-at-home father. Your help would mean the world to me.
