Saving Cuddles
Donation protected
Cuddles is a Brussels Griffon mix. I adopted her from Hopes Haven a rescue in Oregon, 8 years ago. She is an amazing little dog, full of life and loving to all she meets. Preferring to cuddle and be cuddled all the time. Cuddles had a rough beginning. She came from a family that had her from puppyhood up to one year old. They had two toddlers that should not have been around a dog as tiny as she was at that time.
Cuddles has developed a problem which the vet believes to be in her neck. It is a very painful nerve injury and she is currently being treated with steroids, pain meds, and supportive care. She has been unable to stand for two weeks now; and has frequent stabs of pain.
It is imperative that Cuddles sees a neurologist and gets an MRI as soon as possible. A neurologist will cost approximately $200, and an MRI runs between $4-5,000 (cost prohibited at this time). And, if the MRI confirms what her current vet believes it to be, surgery would be required. This is a last-chance effort to save her. Cuddles means so much to me. I don't want to lose her because of our present financial situation.
A little bit about me.
I have been in animal rescue for 20 years now. I am presently working with a cat rescue/adoption center in Salem, Oregon, where I have volunteered for 15 years now. I have fostered over 800 cats/kittens. Additionally, I have taken in many unadoptable cats, sometimes if only to provide hospice care during their remaining years. I have also fostered several medical-needs dogs for Hopes Haven, until they could be adopted. This is the first time I have reached out for money.
Anything received will be put into a separate account. If I cannot pull Cuddles through this crisis, the money will then be used in support of a rescue in my care.
