Hello everyone, meet Anna! My girlfriend’s dog recently had to go to the emergency room because she was very lethargic, couldn’t walk, eat, was vomiting, and had very little strength altogether.
She was diagnosed with Cushing's disease and took Trilostane for about 4 months. When we took her back, she was then diagnosed with Addison's.
She lost 20 lbs and had to be taken to the ER where she spent 3 nights. We racked up a vet bill of $4500.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you happen to see this and cannot donate but still want to help, please share
On April 29th she will be going back to the vet for a check up and be prescribed a monthly shot and take steroids to maintain/regain some strength back.
More info:
Cushing's disease causes cortisol levels to be elevated, which causes weight gain, high blood pressure, muscle weakness, and bone loss.
Addison's causes an inability to produce enough cortisol, which causes weakness, weight loss, low blood pressure, muscle, and joint pain.
