And Life Goes On...

During the four months that have passed since Christopher McCarty left the physical world, his widow, Nina, and his family have struggled to find a path forward without him. It has been very difficult. But the continued support, both emotional and monetary, from all of you has eased that burden.
You have been wonderful in sharing stories about Christopher and how he touched your lives and what his friendship meant to you. These are priceless gifts that will warm our hearts forever. When a loved one passes it’s easy to feel as though the world has moved on and forgotten those left behind. You have all taken time from your own lives to remind us that we are in your thoughts and prayers. It’s hard to find the words to let you all know what your kindness and generosity have meant to us. But thank you.
Nina continues to move forward in creating a life for herself with her beloved goats, cats and two dogs, Billie and Hudson. You’ll soon be seeing her at the holiday farmers’ markets with her soaps and a new line of therapeutic salves. Financially it’s still a struggle but there have been some positive results. We continue to hope for that bright future and again thank you for the part you have played in getting us to this point.
As most of you know from reading previous updates, Chris was a software engineer in his former life. He was also the primary income earner. As he was virtually bedridden, unable to work or speak, from the date of his cancer diagnosis in January 2018 to his death on June 20, 2018, the full responsibility of keeping a roof over their heads while working their farm, tending to the goats and other livestock, and caring full time for Chris fell completely on Nina’s shoulders. In the near term, much of that same struggle continues.
So, we ask you again to please continue to spread the word about this fund, as well as the link to it ( www.gf.me/u/gm73dc) to neighbors, colleagues, friends, social media contacts. And our blessings on all of you.
