Amber's Medical Fund

On Thursday Oct. 2nd, 2014, I, Amber Wagner, began my day preparing for school. I was hoping to spend the weekend celebrating my birthday early; I hadn't had any time off between work and school. Just a day before I was going to go camping, I woke to debilitating abdominal pain.

Unknown to me, I had an ectopic pregnancy rupture in my left fallopian tube (along with a cyst that burst). I was hemorrhaging over half of my blood into my abdominal cavity. I didn't know what was wrong and I asked my neighbor (a friend) for a ride to the doctor. He was waiting on a phone call and didn't have time to help.

I couldn't afford the ambulence ride, so I called a friend who found me unconscious and transported me to Highline Medical Center where I went into immediate emergency surgery. Had my friend delayed his response, I would have died. The surgery left one fallopian tube intact. My chances of fertility have been lessened, but I was assured I should still be able to conceive

I underwent four blood transfusions, my first gave me a severe allergic reaction because of the protein content. Because of this, I was left at a blood ratio of 14/36 for nearly 12 hours until I was cleared to continue the transfusion. I was in the hospital for three days. I will be unable to work or go back to school for up to a month. I will not be able to return to training or performing for up to two months.

I am a Seattle student with a love of circus art. Currently, I attend NW Academy for clinical massage. Previously I attended Seattle University for psychology and philosophy. I am an active member of the Burning Man community, as well as a local performer most known for my fire eating sets. I have worked a great deal in the art community and often support other local performers, venues, and causes.

Though my friends have been able to help with grocery runs and moral support, I will be unable to sustain without financial intervention. The primary focus is to get on the road to recovery without a crushing financial burden disabling me.  It's a blessing to have the love and support of so many wonderful people. Anything helps and will be  greatly appreciated at this time. No donation is too big or too small to send a little help.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
