Hi, my name’s Nat and together with friends Sherralle and Bronny, we have organised this fundraiser to help support our friend Ethan Brown.
On May 12, 2025, the Trentham community lost a beloved hero of the Trentham Fire Brigade—Kath Brown. With decades of devoted service to keeping the community safe, Kath’s untimely passing in a tragic car collision in Eganstown, Victoria has left an irreplaceable void.
Ethan tragically lost his beloved Nan, a maternal figure and guiding force in his life. Raised by his grandparents, Ethan’s Nan, Kath, was his biggest supporter—especially when it came to his education. Her final words to him, “I love you, keep making me proud,” continue to echo in his heart.
Now, Ethan finds himself facing an overwhelming challenge. He is the sole household provider and caregiver for his cousin while also balancing a full-time study in paramedicine and night shifts as a nurse—a schedule that was already demanding before this heartbreaking loss.
Alongside managing new financial stresses and adjusting to a changed reality, his determination to honor his Nan’s memory is both admirable and inspiring.
Following in his family’s footsteps, Ethan joined the Country Fire Authority in 2011 at the age of 11. By 16, he was actively responding to emergencies as a firefighter. In addition, he joined Ambulance Victoria in 2020 and has spent the last 10 years as a dedicated wildlife rescuer. His lifelong commitment to service reflects a spirit that continues to shine even in the darkest hours.
We’re coming together to support Ethan during this difficult time. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the burden of financial bills and essential living expenses, enabling him to focus on his studies and continue caring for his loved ones. If a monetary gift isn’t possible for you right now, sharing this campaign within your networks can make all the difference.
Together, we can honor the remarkable legacy of Kath by lifting up a friend in need and ensuring that Ethan has the support required to move forward with strength and purpose.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
