Regaining Stability

Until now I have not had financial difficulties. That changed at the start of this year. In September 2017 I began seeking help for the nightmares and panic attacks that started again after I gave birth to my Son. Once I was comfortable I divulged that I had been having problems drinking. I enrolled into the substance program and opted into the 28 day inpatient program in December 2017. When I entered the program my son’s father and I had just moved with the plan to sell the house we’d just moved from. Unbeknownst to me my son’s father filed for an emergency sole custody order with no end date. I wasn’t aware of this until I commenced from the inpatient program. In addition to this he also kicked me out of our home and I could not fight it due to the custody order he filed. I had my belongings which was a god send however I had nothing for my son. My friends rallied and were awesome and helped me move back to my home which is located farther away. I was now on one income which did make things a little harder but still manageable. I sought out an attorney to regain joint custody however that required taking out a loan for a retainer. In order to ensure that I had an appropriate home environment for our son I took out a second loan starting from scratch to give a proper living arrangement for our son. My vehicle at the time had no heat or cooling and it would cost more to fix than what I could afford. I traded it in for what I could afford at the time. Slowly I was barely getting by. Now, my mom has moved in to help out and has a job but it’s only as needed. It’s a help for sure but not enough. I’m 10 months sober which is awesome but financially I need a break in the clouds. I’m unable to get a second job and not eligible for loans as if I need another one anyway. My options as far as refinancing my home and car are non-existent.  I cannot get approved for another home loan that would allow me to sell my current home and move closer and pay off bills from the extra income of selling my current home. I’ve made mistakes no doubt. I’m trying to swallow my pride and ask for help for those that are willing to give.
