Hey friends,

As some of you know, Willie has been in and out of the emergency vet for the last week. It's always difficult to ask for help, but anyone with a little animal knows how sudden, necessary and hefty these expenses can be...

His original diagnosis was a urinary tract blockage which has since been cleared. After it was cleared, he still couldn't use the litter and the vet found that he had large bladder stones which couldn't be passed or removed by cystolitholapaxy (laser removal), so he had to go into surgery. The team at VCA ASEC did an amazing job to remove the stones and get him flushed out, and he was ready to go home. The prognosis was excellent and everything went as smoothly as it could have which was great news for us.

Fast forward a few days, Willie has been eating but still not using the litter. He's been in a lot of pain and straining to find his way back to normalcy. We checked him back into the ER and he will be there for a while longer to determine the best post-op treatment. Between the emergency visits, sedation, and surgery, the bills have been adding up and nearing 8k. He's steadily getting better and looks to be in good spirits at the doctors office but needs to be monitored before they can confidently release him. 

Willie has been part of our lives since we adopted him in NYC. He's been with us through 2 cities, 3 houses and hopefully more! Anyone that knows him knows how excitable and goofy he can be. He cheers everyone up and is known for always keeps a watching eye over the household.
