Tiny House, Big Dreams for Mom and Dad!

Miguel Sr. and Dora are parents of three kids and grandparents of nine. Miguel is turning 60 this year and has worked his whole life as a carpenter beginning in his teens in the mid '70s. Despite the setback of contracting Polio as a child, he has always worked on his feet and delivered exceptional results. Unfortunately, during the COVID-19 pandemic the family owned furniture company he worked for had to lay off employees which included my father.
His wife, Dora, never tired working to raise the family and taking on every job from cleaning houses, to retail, to being a teachers’ aid of special needs kids. Together they raised their family on the principals of love and hard work.
This fund would allow us to renovate their home which has been a part of their lives for over 40 years. The 626 square foot house is where it all began when they moved to the West Side of San Antonio during their newly wed years. What better place would this be to start the first chapter in retirement!
Needless to say, the house needs a little TLC to get it back in shape—a new roof, updated plumbing, and interior renovations, to name a few.

My parents gave everything they had to get us through college and I would like to get the chance to pay it forward. It would mean so much to them to finally fulfill this dream of retiring in the house where it all began.
