Fixing a FZR 1000 after flooding for preowner

Hi everyone,

I just bought this 1989 Yamaha FZR1000 a couple days ago from a broken man who just lost everything including his company due to heavy rain causing flooding in the south of Germany.

My idea is to raise money to be able to fix this motorcycle for him and surprise him by gifting it back to him as soon as it's done.

I'll invest my time, effort and knowledge in this project but I need financial help for new parts and engine work to be able to achieve this rebuild.
