This summer, my wife Carol and I had the privilege of visiting the Africa VR Campus and Center just outside of Nairobi, Kenya. What we saw there was nothing short of transformative.

In one of the poorest areas of Nairobi, Paul Waiyaki and his team are doing the extraordinary—using Virtual Reality to teach digital skills, design, coding, and immersive storytelling to young people who would otherwise never have access to this kind of technology. Even more remarkable: over half of his students are young women, being empowered to step into leadership, entrepreneurship, and global citizenship roles.
These aren’t just tech lessons—they’re life-changing experiences. As Paul told us:
“They come here thinking they’re just from a small village. They leave knowing they are citizens of the world.”
But here’s the challenge: almost 50% of their Meta Quest 2 headsets are broken from constant use. And with a new class of 16 eager students, they’re falling short of the hardware they need to keep the program running.

Want to make it simple? Donate any amount, and I’ll purchase high-quality used Meta Quest 2 headsets (typically $100 each) on your behalf.
* Every $100 puts a headset into the hands of a student.
* All funds go directly toward buying the devices locally and shipping those used devices to Nairobi, Kenya.
2. Buy a Used Headset and Mail It to Me

* We’ll send you a pre-filled shipping label and instructions.
* Drop it in the mail, and we’ll get it to AfricaVR Campus.
