Bring Dental Services to Rosebud
Help us ensure equal access to dental care for all! The St. Francis Mission Dental Clinic has generously been given a dental bus filled with equipment by Delta Dental, but first, we must raise $35,000 to get the engine running.
The Lakota people on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota have limited access to dental care, and this new mobile clinic would help reduce these staggering statistics:
- Highest dental decay rate in the nation
- Hygienist per Population ratio is 1:2,000
- 40% of Children and 60% of adults on Rosebud Reservation have moderate to urgent dental need
- Over 200 people are on a surgical waiting list
Since 2012 the St. Francis Mission has been able to increase access to oral health services among the Lakota population. Your contribution to repair the bus would help to ensure that dental care remains a priority on the reservation and that the Lakota people are provided with the treatments they need.
While $35,000 must be raised to fix the engine, additional funds will go towards other repairs to make sure that the bus can be operated all around the reservation.
Moreover, your support can be pivotal for all those volunteer dentists and dental students who are compassionate and dedicated to serving patients at St. Francis Mission Dental Clinic.
