A little over 3 years ago we walked in to humane society to have a "look" around and there she was. The cutest little addition to our family. We left with her later that night.
Although, she only has 3 legs, she has never let that slow her down or break her spirit.
At the beginning of December we could feel an odd heartbeat when she would cuddle up against us. That first Saturday morning we brought her in for the first of many visits. Over the course of the last 3 weeks with additional visits ( one being with a veterinarian cardiologist) and countless test including an echocardiogram, holter monitor, chest x-ray and EKG. We where told that her heart rate has dropped to around 48 beats a minute ( her previous normal heart rate was around 120) and her heart is slightly enlarged. The echo showed that her AV nodes are no longer firing ( top chambers of the heart) having the lower chambers take over and do all the work. She has been prescribed medication to help off set the stress of the heart pumping. It was during that visit with the cardiologist that a pacemaker may be an option to help her live.
Monday afternoon the University of Minnesota cardiology clinic called and said Paisley was a candidate for a pacemaker procedure but it comes at a cost.
As most of you know we are expecting our first little one this spring and don't have the extra funds to cover such the costly procedure for her.
We are giving her all the love & cuddles we can provide all the while keeping her comfortable. We are hoping to raise some funds to help get Paisley the pacemaker she needs.
