Fix my uncle's chair

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lois, and I'm completing a 4-day trek up Machu Pichu in Peru in memory of my Dad, and to raise money for my uncle's mobility chair. Please read his story!

In 2015, just weeks after my Dad died age 35, and me aged 13, his brother, my uncle Sean fell critically ill with an unknown illness. As a paralysis crept over his body, & he struggled to breathe, with doctors not knowing the cause, he was placed into a coma for weeks on end whilst they performed test after test. After 2 years of being misdiagnosed with various illnesses including MS, guillain barre syndrome and numerous operations including 2 lots of brain surgery, he has unfortunately lost all mobility. Spinal & core muscles will never work again as the cause was never found in time. He was told by doctors to accept who he is; that there was no hope for him and that he will never walk again, as his brain is not sending messages to the rest of his body.

Sean was just 32 a young healthy fit fun loving man, father of 2 children, loved going to the gym and spending time with is family and always had the best sense of humour.
The last 7 years have been pretty horrific, but he's still here to watch hids children grow up.

He is unable to sit or walk by himself & is completely paralyzed, needing round the clock care. The only way Sean can have any independance is with the use of a specialised chair at the cost of 27k which family clubbed together and bought him as this isnt funded by the NHS. The chair enables him to stand and get around by himself, giving him a bit of dignity of doing something independently.

After 5 years the chair is in need of repair, and unfortunately with no help from the NHS or any savings left we have been unable to fix the problem, which is why i have decided to do this fundraiser.

This chair means he can do more with us his family and his 2 children.
I will be travelling to Peru alone for a month, and whilst there completing a 4 day trek up Machu Pichu, the trek is 26 miles and with an elevation nearing 13,828 feet . I'm 20yrs old and a journalism student at the University of Salford, I have been saving up for this trip for a while, and if im honest ive felt more nervous setting up the Go Fund than the trip itself, but here goes, wish me luck!
