At 6 years old and playing in the forest near his village, Tezhuna spiritual leader Mamo Rodrigo lost his right leg above the knee when he stepped on a landmine set by the FARC guerrilla warfare movement. It was not until 2019, at 30 years of age, that Mamo Rodrigo received his first orthotic prosthesis.

A modern prosthesis normally lasts for 3 years. Now, 6 years later, Mamo's prosthesis no longer fits and has suffered substantial damage, which causes him sores on his thigh and tremendous pain when walking.

This fundraiser is an urgent request to raise money for Mamo Rodrigo to have his prosthesis fixed so that: (1) he can return to normal health and movement, (2) he can complete his important ceremonial duties this August in the higher mountains of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta (Northern Colombia), and (3) he can travel safely and comfortably for the Tezhuna elders' upcoming tour in the United States.

We need to raise this money ASAP, so that Mamo Rodrigo can pick up his repaired prosthetic and continue his sacred work locally and internationally. Please donate anything you can.
