Fix Maggie’s Heart: Round 2

Hi, my name is Laura and I am Maggie's Aunt & Beth's sister.

As most of you know, Maggie was born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) called Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). She had open heart surgery at 3 1/2 months old to correct this. Maggie has yearly cardiologist check-ups. In November, she was sent for a routine MRI to make sure her heart looked like a "normal" TOF heart. We were all shocked to learn that it does not look like a "normal" TOF heart. It was discovered that Maggie has another heart defect called Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return (PAPVR). This is a rare congenital abnormality of one or more pulmonary veins that drain into the right side of the heart, instead of the left side of the heart where they should drain. This puts a severe amount of pressure on the right side of her heart. Maggie needs another (unexpected!) open heart surgery to correct this. This is scheduled for February 24th at C. S. Mott Children's Hospital at U of M.

Maggie is so active and healthy, this came as quite a shock! Since this is so unexpected, let's help Tyler & Beth with the medical expenses, lodging while at U of M during surgery, meals, and not to mention the unpaid time off work for Beth!
