The Sound has not had a Keeper since we lost Terry Backer in 2015. Save the Sound is proud to honor his legacy by bringing on new Soundkeeper Bill Lucey. You can help make the dream a reality by getting Bill on the water this fall.
We hope to power his patrol boat with a new Evinrude engine, which costs $17,500 to purchase and install.
Through regular patrols of your bays and harbors, the Soundkeeper will focus on finding, reporting, and fixing our most vexing water quality problems. The Soundkeeper will speak out on behalf of the many marine species and people that depend on a healthy Sound for survival.
